Pipe Strain Transducer

This is for estimating the depth and amount of sliding of landslide surfaces in landslide areas. This pipe strain transducer consists of a strain gage attached to a PVC pipe, and makes use of the flexibility of PVC. It is used by boring into the landslide site, lowering multiple detectors into the borehole while extending them with intermediate pipes, and then inserting sand to secure it in place. The detectors are then switched on at each depth to measure bending strain, from which the magnitude and depth of sliding can be estimated. (Manufactured by Tokyo Denki CO., LTD.)
