Strain gages can be used to measure toothbrush strain and determine toothbrush stress when brushing, in order to verify whether toothbrush quality has improved or whether a particular method of brushing is effective. EDX-10 Series devices are recommended as measuring instruments. They can be powered over USB from a PC, making it easy to take measurements even at sinks or other areas where access to power is limited.

Haptic Control of Robot Arms
LFM-A can be used to measure six component forces (force on three directions and moment around each axis) simultaneously, for use as a haptic sensor. The hollow structure makes it simple to wire to a robot arm. It is also lightweight (compared with other Kyowa products), reducing its impact on whatever is being measured.
