Asia Create Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture. Under its motto of "Always One Step Ahead," the company is involved in developing and conducting training for "Safety experience simulators" to reduce workplace accidents. It also provides design and construction management services for plant systems and design and manufacturing services for industrial automated machines. We spoke with Asia Create about the company's relationship with KYOWA and the future envisioned by both companies.

Expanding business with Safety experience simulators with integrated load cells

―Tell us about the kind of work Asia Create does.

Tsutsui: We have two main pillars supporting our business. The first is designing, assembling, and installing production equipment for customers. We manufacture a wide variety of these specialized machines to meet the needs of our customers. Takenoshita: Our other pillar is developing Safety experience simulators. These systems allow you to experience workplace accidents virtually and safely, and an increasing number of companies are using them to conduct safety training. Demand has been growing both inside and outside Japan, and we even receive inquiries from local companies in other countries. For example, we've heard from companies in Mexico, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Portugal. We offer a range of services in addition to manufacturing systems, such as conducting safety training at our Occupational Safety Training Center, renting out systems, and conducting on-site training.

―How is KYOWA involved with Asia Create?

Nakashima: For Safety experience simulators, we use "load cells" to measure the force on an object, and "indicators" to display measurement data. We started with two types of systems: systems that measure impact when an object drops, and systems that measure impact from the side. From there, we went on to manufacture our compact "Dropping Impact Measurement Simulator: Light," which has an integrated load cell. This was a big hit and was a turning point for our business in the safety area.

―Could you tell us what led you to use KYOWA products?

Tsutsui: We chose KYOWA products because, when we were procuring load cells and indicators, the pricing and delivery were right for us. Of course, we requested quotes from several companies, but it was KYOWA that best matched our needs.

―What attracted you to KYOWA products?

Takenoshita: We couldn't ask for anything more concerning machine reliability, for both the load cells and the indicators. We haven't had any major breakdowns, and we've never felt concerned about durability. Our Dropping Impact Measurement Simulator: Light product with integrated load cell is very popular, and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that KYOWA products are indispensable for us.

Can contact KYOWA about anything and can leave it to them without any worries

How is KYOWA when it comes to support?

Tsutsui: Support has been truly remarkable, including support from our distributor, Kyoritsu Keihan. We need to respond quickly if a customer contacts us with a request, such as quicker delivery or support if there's some defect in a system. Whenever that happens, we always receive close and courteous support from KYOWA, which is always a relief. It makes us feel like we can leave it to KYOWA with nothing to worry about. Nakashima: There was this one time we had a defect in one of our Safety experience simulators. Support rushed to the site and spent two or three hours with us working on figuring out what was causing it. One other time we special ordered a cable, and the representative was happy to take care of us. We appreciate the support we receive, and it makes it easy to choose KYOWA. We can contact KYOWA about anything and can leave it to them without any worries. This is what makes us so glad we went with KYOWA.

Working with KYOWA as a motivating force for expanding overseas

―What does the future hold?

Tsutsui: We want to do whatever we can to reduce workplace accidents. We work keeping this in mind every day, and we'd like to focus our efforts even more on expanding overseas, in addition to our work in Japan, of course. We'd like to attend exhibitions overseas, and if we could get people overseas using our Safety experience simulators, it would be a great growth opportunity for us.

―Is there anything in particular you'd like from KYOWA?

Takenoshita: We'd like KYOWA to keep innovating technology, such as developing new load cells that are even more compact but that can still measure high loads. Innovating technology will help us to develop new Safety experience simulators, and would serve as a great motivating force in accelerating our expansion overseas. Nakashima: I hope we can continue to work and move forward together, and I'm sure we'll be contacting KYOWA frequently to design new products based on requests from our customers. So we can be "Always One Step Ahead."

A KYOWA employee experiences "Dropping Impact Measurement Simulator: Light" in person

The release of Dropping Impact Measurement Simulator: Light was a milestone in expanding the business of Asia Create. Disposable chopsticks standing in for fingers are inserted inside the case, and then an iron plate is dropped on them. The impact is shocking when you actually experience it. "Imagine if those were your fingers... I don't even want to think about it," stated a shocked KYOWA employee upon seeing how easily the chopsticks break.

Although the load is also expressed as a number on the indicator, actually experiencing it is completely different from simply reading about it or watching a video, and shows how truly dangerous workplace accidents can be.
